Emma Roberts And Laurence Fishburne To Star In Sci-Fi Thriller The Astronaut!

Directed by debutant writer-director Jess Varley, the film's production will start later this year in Ireland.

Emma Roberts and veteran Hollywood actor Laurence Fishburne are set to star in science fiction thriller ‘The Astronaut’. According to the latest report in Deadline, an upcoming sci-fi film will be produced by A Quiet Place (2018) producer Brad Fuller.

The Astronaut will be directed by debutant writer-director Jess Varley, who has previously written and directed segments in the sci-fi horror anthology film Phobias. She has also directed a 2017 horror short film titled ‘Mother’.

The film’s production will start later this year in Ireland. The film will see Emma play the role of an astronaut who is found alive in a capsule in the Atlanta Ocean. Her Matrix co-star will play General William Harris, who keeps Sam under surveillance and medical treatment from NASA. During her stay, she starts to fear that something alien has followed her back to Earth. The film does not have a release date yet, and the makers are yet to announce the names of the rest of the cast members who will soon join the two leads.

Both artists are known for being part of unique sci-fi and horror films in their respective acting careers. Emma has worked in horror films such as Scream 4, American Horror Story, and Scream Queens. Her upcoming projects include Verona Spies Returns, Space Cadet, Madame Web. Laurence Fishburne has been part of iconic classic films such as The Matrix, Apocalypse Now, The Man Of Steel, John Wick, Ant-Man and the Wasp. His upcoming projects include John Wick 4, The Sterling Affairs, and Blacksmith.
