Nausea usually refers to the feeling of a sudden loss of physical energy followed by an urge to vomit. Other symptoms of nausea may include- excessive sweating, fatigue, a rush of saliva in the mouth, and also loss of appetite. There a few home remedies to treat nausea which are mentioned below.

This feeling of nausea usually occurs due to acid reflux, over-eating, and even motion sickness. Nausea may also happen during pregnancy.

There are a few home remedies one can use when experiencing nausea. Certain kitchen ingredients can do wonders in treating nausea. If not proper cure, these home remedies might actually help to relieve the symptoms.

Here are a few Natural / Home Remedies for Treating Nausea:

Drink Water

Nausea can usually happen due to dehydration, thus one must drink ample water if they ever feel dizzy. As nausea causes excessive sweating, staying hydrated will help relieve the symptoms of nausea. Water also cools down body temperature if you are experiencing nausea due to heatstroke or excessive physical workout.  


Ginger is an age-old treatment to treat acid reflux (acidity) problems. The ginger has anti-inflammatory properties, it can help in digesting the food. Eating a fresh piece of ginger can help to get relief from the nausea you are experiencing.


Peppermint can be used as an alternative for ginger. The menthol in peppermint can help relax the abdomen muscle which in turn helps the digestion process. Just like ginger, the peppermint is also effective in curing acidity problems. The taste of peppermint can also reduce the vomiting sensation caused due to nausea. Add a few drops of peppermint oil in water and drink it. One can also chew the peppermint leaf.

Take A Nap

The symptoms of nausea can happen due to excessive physical and at times mental stress. When feeling dizzy, it is better to take a power nap or half an hour nap. The nap can help with the heavy head and vomit feeling.

Lemon Juice

Lime juice or lemon juice contains a lot of vitamin C, that can help get rid of vomit feeling. The tangy taste of lime or lemon can also make one feel refreshed. Having a glass of lime or lemon juice can help the body relax that can ease the nauseous feeling.

These are a few natural home remedies one can use to get relief from the feeling of nausea. On the side note, one can also put cold compress behind the neck to help with the dizzy feeling.

However, if the symptoms persist then one must consult a doctor.
