Actress and model Poonam Pandey recently grabbed the headlines after her team announced that the actress passed away at the age of 32 due to cervical cancer. To everyone’s shock, Poonam later came out and revealed that all the controversy was just a stunt to raise awareness about cervical cancer. However, her PR stunt backfired and the actress faced extreme backlash from celebrities and the public.
Amidst the extreme backlash and criticism, now an FIR has reportedly been filed against Poonam Pandey for faking her death. As per Amar Ujala, an advocate named Ali Kashif Khan Deshmukh has filed a police complaint against Poonam Pandey, meanwhile, a demand has also been made to file an FIR against the actress’s manager Nikita Sharma accusing Poonam of cheating the public and cheating the country in the name of cervical cancer.
Apart from this, Maharashtra legislator Satyajeet Tambe on Saturday also demanded that Mumbai police take action against model actor Poonam Pandey for putting out fake news of her death. In a statement, Tambe said that a case should be registered against Ms Pandey to make an example of her for those who resort to such stunts to promote themselves.
And that’s not it, reportedly, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has called for an FIR against Poonam Pandey. Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, the founder of AICWA, claimed Poonam Pandey’s act was carried out for cheap publicity.
Poonam Pandey Death Stunt
For the unversed, on 2nd February Poonam Pandey’s team issued a statement stating that the actress and model died of cervical cancer. The news created huge waves on the internet leaving everyone in a state of complete shock. However, on 3rd February, Poonam Pandey shared a video message stating that she is alive and that her stunt of faking her death was to raise awareness regarding cervical cancer.
