Upcoming Tamil Films Coming To Theatres In May 2024

April saw a dry spell in the Tamil industry, with few notable or successful film releases like “Rathnam”. However, May brings anticipation as much-awaited and highly-anticipated films like “Aranmanai 4” and others are set to hit theaters. So without, further ado let’s take a look at the list of the upcoming Tamil films which are all set to hit the theatres in May 2024.

Upcoming Tamil Films Releasing In May 2024

Aranmanai 4 (May 3)

The highly successful Tamil franchise “Aranmanai” returns with its latest installment, “Aranmanai 4,” set for release on May 3rd. This marks the second collaboration between Sundar C and Tamannaah Bhatia since “Action” in 2019. Additionally, Raashi Khanna, who featured in the third installment, is part of the new film. While Vijay Sethupathi was initially slated to appear in “Aranmanai 4,” he withdrew due to scheduling conflicts. The movie also stars Santhosh Prathap, recognized for his role in “Sarpatta Parambarai,” alongside Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, and VTV Ganesh. The trailer was unveiled on March 30th.

Kurangu Pedal (May 3)

Directed by Kamalakannan, “Kurangu Pedal” is a Tamil drama set for release in theaters on May 3rd. The film stars Kaali Venkat and Santhosh Velmurugan in the lead roles.

Star (May 10)

The Tamil film “Star,” starring Bigg Boss sensation Kavin, is generating buzz for its chart-topping songs ahead of its May 10 release. Directed by Elan, the movie promises a unique blend of romance, family drama, and college life, featuring Kavin alongside Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan Lal, and Geetha Kailasam. Fans eagerly anticipate Kavin’s performance following the success of his previous hits “Lift” (2021) and “Dada” (2023).

Inga Naan Thaan Kingu (May 10)

Santhanam’s upcoming movie, “Inga Naan Thaan Kingu,” is slated for a theatrical release on May 10. The title draws inspiration from the Tamil song “Hukum” from Rajinikanth’s film “Jailer.” The cast includes Santhanam, Priyalaya, Thambi Ramaiah, Vivek Prasanna, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Attul, Maaran, Seshu, Swaminathan, Cool Suresh, and the late actor Manobala. Directed by N Anand and written by Rathna Kumar, the film is expected to be an entertaining venture.
