Taylor Swift Teases New Music, Spends Her Birthday In Studio

Taylor Swift's new song announcement came as a surprise to 'Swifties' as the singer released her tenth studio album, Midnights, less than two months ago.

Taylor Swift rang on her 33rd birthday on December 13 and the Grammy Award-winning recently shared how she spent her special day. Taking to Instagram, Swift thank her devout fanbase for flooding her with ‘beautiful wishes.’

Taylor also teased the making of new music by revealing she’s spending her birthday ‘in the studio with producer and longtime collaborator, Jack Antonoff. The singer included a photo that showed her sitting on the floor with a double bass laying across her lap while Antonoff strummed on an acoustic guitar on a chair beside her. Swift also held up three fingers on each hand in honour of turning 33.

Alongside the photo, the singer penned, “Thanks for all the beautiful wishes today!! I spent my 33rd birthday in the studio of course… Wouldn’t have it any other way. Love you!” The new music from Swift comes as a surprise to ‘Swifties’ as the singer released her tenth studio album, Midnights, less than two months ago.

Soon after Midnight’s release, Swift announced that she’d be heading out on The Eras Tour, her first since 2018’s Reputation Tour. However, the Ticketmaster pre-sale for the long-awaited tour proved to be catastrophic. Many pre-verified fans were left waiting in a virtual line for hours while others were unable to purchase tickets at all. The Ticketmaster site was so flooded by traffic that it actually crashed.

The singer’s team announced earlier this week that additional tickets for The Eras Tour will soon be available to some verified fans who missed out. Fans received emails which read: ‘Congratulations, you have been selected to participate in a limited-time opportunity to request to purchase 2 tickets to Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour.

‘You were selected for this opportunity because you have been identified as a fan who received a boost during the Verified Fan presale but did not purchase tickets. ‘We apologized for the difficulties you may have experienced, and have been asked by Taylor’s team to create this additional opportunity for you to purchase tickets.’ Fans will be able to purchase tickets sometime before December 23, and ‘invitations will be staggered by tour dates in each city.
