Taylor Swift To Direct First Feature Film Based On Her Own Original Script

Further details about the upcoming project have been kept under wraps.

Taylor Swift fans are delighted as it was recently confirmed that the pop star will direct her first feature-length film based on her own original script. Swift has written an original script which will be produced by Searchlight Pictures., which has been behind Oscar-winning films such as Nomadland and The Shape Of Water.

However, further details about the upcoming project have been kept under wraps. Meanwhile, this is not Taylor’s directing debut as she has previously worked behind the cameras at the craft with her own music videos including the multi-award-winning All Too Well: The Short Film. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink and Teen Wolf’s Dylan O’Brien starred in the nearly 15-minute video, which was also written by Taylor Swift.

The singer-songwriter won the best video, best long-form video and best direction awards at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards for music video. This achievement helped her make history as the only solo artist ever to be honoured with two best direction awards following her win at the 2020 award show for the music video of her song The Man.

All Too Well: The Short Film also bagged the best video and best long-form video gongs at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) last month. Swift is an 11-time Grammy winner and the only female artist in Grammy history to win the coveted album of the year award three times. She recently earned another Grammy nomination for song of the year for the 10-minute version of All Too Well.

Fans have taken to Twitter to express their joy at Taylor’s latest career development, with them insisting that they’re glad they joined her fanbase. One wrote: “I truly chose the right person to admire, not that I needed more than her music but she really never ceases to amaze me.” While another tweeted, “I’m actually so excited for this because for the first time we’ll really get to see Taylor direct something without the framework of her music. Like what story does she want to tell? What kind of style?”
