Singer Shubh Finally Breaks Silence After His Concert In India Gets Canceled

Canada-based Punjabi singer, Shubh has now finally broken his silence over the distorted map controversy and his Indian tour getting canceled.

Canada-based singer Shubneet Singh aka Shubh is a 26-year-old Canada-based Punjabi singer who recently faced extreme backlash from Indian citizens and netizens after he shared a distorted map of India on his social media. Due to the same, the singer’s upcoming concert in India was cancelled for allegedly supporting separatist Khalistan elements.

And finally, days after the controversy, the Canada-based Punjabi singer, Shubh has now finally broken his silence over the distorted map controversy. Taking to his Instagram the singer shared a 3 page long note, as he addressed the backlash he faced for allegedly supporting separatist Khalistan elements.

In the shared post singer Shubh said that it was his dream to put his music on an international dais, however, the recent happenings have tumbled his hard work and progress. He stated that he is extremely disheartened by the cancellation of his tour in India. Further in the long note, Shubh addressed being called an anti-nationalist and said that India is his country too. He then humbly requested everyone refrain from naming every Punjabi as a separatist or anti-national.” See post-

Reacting to the post a segment of netizens slammed the singer, a user commented, “Dnt hide ur real face behind gurus vaani..Guru ji sacrificed lives for this nation and canadian like you trying to break this nation”. Another commented, “We don’t support you”.

Singer Shubh India’s Distorted Map Controversy

The controversy began after Shubh shared a distorted map of India on his Instagram stories omitting Kashmir, Punjab and northeastern states from the map. Sharing the omitted map on his Instagram Shubh wrote, “Pray For Punjab”. This sparked extreme outlash from the netizens and Indian citizens.

Later Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) tore down posters of the singer’s upcoming concert in India for supporting Khalistani elements. Indian cricketers including Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul unfollowed Shubh from their social media handles. Consumer-based electronics brand boAt has also decided to withdraw its sponsorship from the singer’s upcoming tour in India.

Shubneet Singh aka Shubh is a 26-year-old Canada-based Punjabi singer was scheduled to perform at his concert in India which was supposed to be held from September 23 to 25 on Cordelia Cruises in Mumbai, with performances in cities such as New Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
