The Oscar Winner Emma Stone’s real name is Emily Stone and now the actress wants people to call her by her real name. When she joined the Screen Actors Guild, she changed her name from Emily to Emma. During that time, there was already an actress named Emily Stone registered with SAG union, and therefore she chose the name Emma.
But in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she opened up about calling her by real name, “That would be so nice, I would like to be Emily.” But of course, there are some fellows in the Hollywood industry who call her by her real name Emily. She said, “When I get to know them, people that I work with do.” But in the initial stage it was difficult for her to get herself called Emma. She explained, “I can’t do it anymore. Just call me Emily.”
But why did the Poor Things actress choose the name Emma only and nothing else? She explained the reason behind it in an old episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. She elaborated, “Growing up I was super blonde. and my real is Emily, but I wanted to be called Emma because of Baby Spice and guess what! Now I am. So that’s like pretty messed up.” It’s really crazy how her name choices kept shifting. She shared her childhood memory, saying, “but yes, in second grade did I go up to the teacher on the first day and ask her to call me Emma? Yes I did. Was it because of Emma Lee Bunton from the Spice Girls? Yes it was.”
The Oscar winner recently got credit by her full name ‘Emily Jean Stone’ in Taylor Swift’s new album as she has written a song ‘Florida’ for the album.
