In a Flashback Conversation with Lehren, the Gangs Of Wasseypur actor talks about R.G.V, Road & the experience of working with his long time director friend Rajat Mukherjee.

Manoj Bajpayee stands supremely tall in the list of top-talented actors of Bollywood. Known for his stellar performances in ventures like Satya, Veer-Zara, Raajneeti, The Family Man & many more, the mind-boggling artist has a huge fan base around the country and worldwide. In an Exclusive Throwback Podcast with Lehren, the Special 26 star talked about his experience of working with the dynamic director Ram Gopal Varma & also shared insights about his film- Road, which in turn featured Vivek Oberoi, Antara Mali, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz & Sayaji Shinde in pivotal roles. Helmed by R.G.V & directed by Rajat Mukherjee, the thriller venture was released back in the year 2002.

In a candid flashback conversation with Lehren, Manoj Bajpayee expressed about Road being a very unique film. Post getting a narration of the script from Ram Gopal Varma, the actor shared that the story of Road has shades of humour as well as romance and also called it a strange kind of story-line which has got elements of mainstream cinema too. Bajpayee explained about the plot of the story being short and simple, “It’s a film of happenings, happenings are there, but the story line will be very very short, it’s about a boy & a girl and they are on a journey & a person who takes the lift, after that the rollercoaster happens the thrill happens, so it’s a very short story line.”

Manoj also revealed knowing the director of the film, Rajat Mukherjee, for a long time and added that both used to party together. Knowing the filmmaker since before the movie- Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Bajpayee had always wanted to work with him for a project and praised the same for his direction in Road,plus appreciated Ramu Ji who got him (Rajat) on board for Road. Bajpayee also shared his experience of working with the leading lady of the film Antara, with whom he had collaborated in a Telugu Film called Prem Katha and informs that the latter two actors are friendly & familiar to each other.
