The much-awaited Telugu film which was released on 22 December, made an exceptional box office opening shattering several records made by films like Adipurush, Jawan, Animal, and others. - Salaar
Directed by Prashanth Neel Telugu film Salaar has become the biggest Indian opener of 2023. Salaar made an opening worth a whopping 95cr at the domestic box office, and a total of 175cr at the worldwide box office, taking the first spot in the list of the biggest openers of 2023.
2. Adipurush
Followed by Salaar is Om Raut’s film, Adipurush starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan. The much-controversial film, Adipurush made a box opening worth 89 crores at the box office becoming the second-biggest opener of 2023.
3. Jawan
On the 3rd spot is Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan. Directed by Atlee Kumar the film stars SRK alongside Nayanthara. The action-thriller recorded a box office opening worth a whopping 75 crores becoming the 3rd biggest opener of 2023.
4. Leo
On the 4th spot is Lokesh Kanagaraj’s popular Tamil film, Leo. Starring Vijay Thalapathy alongside Sanjay Dutt and Trisha Krishnan the film recorded a box office opening worth 66 crores becoming the 4th biggest opener of 2023.
5. Animal
Last but not least is the very controversial Arjun Reddy Vanga’s film, Animal. Released in December the film featured Ranbir Kapoor alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Kapoor. Animal recorded a box office opening worth 63.80 crores becoming the 5th biggest opener of 2023.
Following Animal is SRK starrer Pathaan in the 6th spot, Jailer, in the 7th spot, Tiger 3 in the 8th spot, and Gadar 2 in the 9th spot of the biggest openers of 2023.
