Coolie Teaser: Rajinikanth’s Iconic Presence Lights Up The Screen!

Coolie marks Rajinikanth's first film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, produced by Sun Pictures and announced in September last year

CoolieTeaser: On Monday, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed the title of his upcoming film with Rajinikanth. Making the announcement on X (previously known as Twitter), Lokesh also treated fans to a captivating over-three-minute teaser of the film, previously referred to as Thalaivar 171.

The video depicts various individuals laboring in a factory, meticulously crafting gold items ranging from chains to watches. Amidst their work, one worker is alerted to an unauthorized breach in security, prompting caution. Stepping outside with a gold chain in hand to confront the intruder, the worker unexpectedly finds himself on the receiving end of a beating instead.

Following this, the teaser showcases intense fight sequences between Rajinikanth’s character and the factory workers. Notably, the entire teaser has been filmed in black and white, with only the vibrant gold color visible.

Marking Rajinikanth’s debut collaboration with Lokesh, this film, produced by Sun Pictures, was unveiled in September last year. While speculation suggests Sivakarthikeyan may play a pivotal role, details regarding the rest of the cast and crew remain undisclosed. Notably, composer Anirudh Ravichander and stunt director duo Anbariv have been enlisted for the project.

Rajinikanth’s Upcoming Films

Rajinikanth’s last appearance was in Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwarya. Currently, he is filming Vettaiyan with director TJ Gnanavel, alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati.

Following the success of Vikram in 2022 with Kamal Haasan, Lokesh directed Leo with Vijay in 2023. He recently debuted as an actor in Shruti Haasan’s song “Inimel.” Apart from his project with Rajinikanth, Lokesh also has Kaithi 2 with Karthi in the pipeline.
