In a recent real estate development, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has made headlines by acquiring a luxurious apartment in Mumbai’s exclusive Pali Hill area for a whopping sum of Rs 17.01 crore. This significant purchase was reported by Moneycontrol, citing data from realty platform IndexTap.com.
Preity Zinta’s new abode boasts a carpet area of 1,474 square feet and is situated in the upscale neighborhood of Pali Hills. Notably, the property comes with the added convenience of two reserved parking spaces.
The transaction was finalized with Keystone Realtors Limited, and the property’s registration was officially completed on October 23. To secure her new home, Preity Zinta also paid a stamp duty of Rs 85.07 lakh.
It seems that the trend of Bollywood stars investing in Mumbai’s real estate market is on the rise. Just earlier this month, renowned actor Manoj Bajpayee and his wife Shabana Bajpayee made a substantial purchase of four office units, spanning a generous 7,620 square feet, in the Oshiwara area of Mumbai. The transaction amounted to an impressive Rs 32.94 crore.
Bollywood’s power couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, are no strangers to luxury real estate investments. In 2022, they acquired a sea-facing quadruplex apartment in the prestigious Bandra area, close to Shahrukh Khan’s residence, Mannat. This opulent property, spanning the 16th to 19th floors of Sagar Resham, was estimated to be worth a staggering Rs 119 crore.
Other Bollywood figures have also been active in the real estate market. FilmKraft Productions Pvt Ltd, owned by Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan, recently purchased four office units with a carpet area of around 10,000 square feet in Mumbai’s Lower Parel area, paying a total of Rs 33 crore. This transaction included the added convenience of eight parking slots.
Actress Sonakshi Sinha also joined the list of real estate buyers by investing in a premium residential tower in Bandra, Mumbai. She secured a 2,430 square feet apartment on the 26th floor for a sum of Rs 11 crore.
Interestingly, it is worth noting that many Bollywood stars are leaning towards commercial property investments as opposed to residential ones. This choice is driven by the favorable rental yields offered by commercial real estate. Rental yield refers to the annual rental income generated by a property in relation to its total value. Commercial properties tend to provide higher rental yields when compared to residential properties, making them a preferred choice among the Bollywood elite for their real estate investments.
