Pooja Bhatt Opens About Nepotism & Bollywood Industry’s Business

Being a starkid Pooja Bhatt said that background doesn’t make any difference in the Bollywood film industry.

“Sadak” actress Pooja Bhatt will celebrate her 52nd birthday on February 24. Pooja’s journey in Bollywood is not very long but captivating enough. She is the eldest daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. Her debut in Bollywood was through her father’s directed film “Daddy”, released in the year 1989. She worked as a lead actress in many movies directed by her father, Mahesh Bhatt, in many movies, like “Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin”, “Sadak” etc. But she said that background doesn’t make any difference in the Bollywood film industry.

In a throwback interview with Lehren Podcast, she shared her thoughts about nepotism in the Bollywood film industry. When she was asked whether entering and existing in Bollywood was safe for her, she answered, “Jisko safe rehna hai woh safe rehte hai (who wants to be safe, gets safe).” Further she continued saying, “Background se farak padta nahi hai industry mein. Eventually, it’s your work that counts; it’s your talent that counts. They don’t give a damn whose daughter, whose granddaughter, whose father, whose mother you are.”

Ahead, she disclosed the business side of Bollywood; she revealed a harsh truth, saying, “We are a bunch of businessmen, and we tried to cover it up by saying we are very creative and very artistic. Finally, it is an industry; it’s a business; it’s a profession. So, if you make money for them, if you are talented, if you are professional, if you are dedicated, it will work for you. Otherwise, nobody in the world can save you.” Also, if one wants to work in the acting field, he or she has to have talent within themselves is what Pooja said.

Talking about the professional front, she was last seen in Bigg Boss OTT Season 2. And before that, she hit the screen through the movies “Sadak 2” and “Chup”.
