Karan Johar Announces “Tujhe Yaad Na Meri” Remake, Fans React

Fans are skeptical about the remake of popular song "Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayi" from "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai".

Bollywood classic ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ will mark its 25th anniversary on October 16 and cinephiles can’t keep calm. While fans eagerly await to see how the star cast marks this momentous occasion, Karan Johar, the man behind the iconic film, has unveiled a big surprise. No, it’s not a sequel, but a remake of the beloved song ‘Tujhe Yaad Na Meri’ from the original.

Taking to Instagram, Karan Johar made the announcement that this cherished song will be recreated, with B Praak lending his voice to the remake. The news sent waves across social media, with some fans expressing their excitement while others displayed a hint of reservation about yet another remake in the world of music.

Karan Johar took to his Instagram stories to reiterate the exciting news.

B Praak wrote, “25 years!!! They say ‘If you dream with all your heart, the dream starts manifesting and they do come true.’ I am thrilled to announce that I got the HONOUR to sing for one and only @iamsrk, sir And @kajol #ranimukherjee. I hope you like our efforts. My only dream is to sing and recreate this magical song in our style. Thank you @karanjohar for accepting my request and trusting us that we can do justice to your magical song!!! The best No 1 lyricist @jaani777, you killed it, and the biggest thanks to @azeemdayani for always supporting our efforts.”

However, it’s worth noting that not everyone was on board with the idea of a remake for such an iconic song. Social media was abuzz with comments such as, “For God’s sake, don’t spoil this beautiful song,” “I hope this recreation does justice because this song is not just a song, it’s an emotion,” and “Please don’t mess it up with too many unnecessary changes in the lyrics.” Clearly, emotions are running high when it comes to recreating this timeless classic.

‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ originally graced the screens on October 16, 1998, and continues to hold a special place in the hearts of cinephiles. The film featured the stellar cast of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji in lead roles, making it a true gem in Bollywood’s history.
