Govinda To Be Questioned By Odisha Economic Offences Wing In Connection With Rs 1,000 Crore Ponzi Scheme

STA, Which Had A Global Presence, Operated An Online Ponzi Scheme Under The Guise Of Cryptocurrency Investments

Bollywood actor Govinda is set to face questioning by the Odisha Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in connection with a massive Rs 1,000 crore ponzi scheme, as reported by Times Of India. The actor’s involvement in endorsing Solar Techno Alliance (STA), the company behind the scam, has brought him under scrutiny.

STA, which had a global presence, operated an online ponzi scheme under the guise of cryptocurrency investments. The company allegedly collected deposits from over 2 lakh individuals across India without the authorization of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), accumulating a staggering Rs 1,000 crore in the process.

EOW officials have clarified that Govinda is neither a suspect nor an accused in the case. However, they plan to question him due to his endorsement of STA in several videos, hoping to gather more information and insights into the scam from his statements.

Govinda had attended a major event hosted by STA in Goa earlier this year. Consequently, a team from the Odisha EOW is expected to travel to Mumbai soon to interview the actor regarding his association with the company.

Officials further emphasized that Govinda’s role was that of an endorser, and it was limited as per a valid agreement. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, he may be designated as a witness in the case.

As of now, Govinda has not issued an official statement regarding his involvement in the case.

On the professional front, Govinda was last seen in the 2019 film “Rangeela Raja” and has since made appearances on reality shows and events as a special guest.
