Zendaya Opens Up About Her Kissing Scenes In Challengers Which Are Drawing Abnormal Attention

The Dune actress talks about her on-screen kissing scenes drawing attention at Jake Hamilton's Jake's Takes Show. Challengers is set to hit the theatres on April 26th, 2024.

Speaking candidly, Zendaya has described the discussions that surround her kissing sequences in movies and TV shows. The Emmy-winning actress promoted Challengers by speaking with Jake Hamilton, the man behind the YouTube channel Jake’s Takes. To celebrate the premiere of Luca Guadagnino’s next movie, she had a quick chat with co-stars Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor.

During the interview, Zendaya was informed by Hamilton that her kissing scenes appear to draw an abnormal amount of attention. Zendaya acknowledged this and said, “I know, it’s very odd.” He asked her again if she believed that was just part of what actors did for a living or if she believed that was just a ruse to get her to talk about kissing.

“I have no idea. I don’t know if it’s because they want it to be, like, a viral thing, I don’t know. But I have noticed that, with me specifically,” Zendaya elaborated. “I feel like other actors don’t… if it was somebody else here, you probably wouldn’t have asked that question.”

She added, “But yeah, it is a part of my job, and it is a completely normal part of the job despite, I think, maybe other people’s perception of our job. But yeah, it is odd.” The Euphoria star thanked Hamilton for bringing that up because she thought the same thing, adding, “I’m like, this is weird!”

For the unversed, Challengers, the romantic sports genre film starring Rachel O’Connor, Amy Pascal & Zendaya is all set to hit the silver screens on April 26th, 2024.
