- Beast– Topping the list is Thalapathy Vijay starrer “Beast“. Beast is an all-time blockbuster hit in the Tamil film industry. Beast grossed around ₹85.2 crore on its opening day worldwide. The film is currently the highest and the biggest opening film in the Tamil industry.
2. Ponniyin Selvan 1– Second on the list is Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan which made a whopping 80.70 cr globally on its opening day.
3. Jailer– Third on the list is the recently released Tamil film, “Jailer” starring South megastar Rajinikanth. The film grossed approx. 72cr globally on its opening day at the box office.
4. Annaatthe– Following Jailer is Rajinikanth’s yet another film, Annaatthe which also starred actresses Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh. The film grossed around ₹70.19cr on its opening day.
5. Sarkar– Fifth on the list is 2018 released film, Sarkar again starring actor Thalapathy Vijay alongside Keerthy Suresh. The film grossed approx. ₹70cr globally on its opening day.
6. Bigil– Following Sarkar, Vijay delivered yet another biggest hit in 2019, Bigil. Directed by Atlee Kumar the film also starred Nayanthara. The film grossed approx, 62.80cr on its opening day.
7. Vikram– On the 7th spot is 2022 released blockbuster hit film Vikram starring Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi. The film grossed around 62cr on its opening day becoming the 7th highest and biggest opening Tamil films.
8. Valimai– On the eighth spot is 2022 released film, “Valimai” starring South superstar Ajith Kumar. The action-thriller film grossed around 50cr on its opening day.
9. Master– Released in the year 2021, Master is yet another film featuring actor Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film earned around 49.78cr on its opening day.
10. Mersal– Last but not least is 2017 released action film, “Mersal“. Directed by Atlee Kumar the film starred Vijay Thalapathy alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The film grossed around 47.1cr becoming the 10th highest and biggest opening Tamil films.
