Sony Entertainment Television’s magnum opus Punyashlok Ahilyabai has finally hit the screens and since then, the show has been receiving immense love from the viewers. The show brings to light the brave tale of Ahilyabai Holkar’s prolific journey and how she vehemently defied the pre-defined norms of the patriarchal society with the unwavering support of her father-in-law Malhar Rao Holkar.
Renowned TV actor Rajesh Shringarpure, who essays the larger-than-life character of Malhar Rao Holkar, considers himself fortunate to have received the opportunity to laud the legacy of one of the most noble rulers of Indian history.
Sharing his thoughts on the same, Rajesh Shringarpure said, “Punyashlok Ahilyabai is special to me. Being a part of this show has given me innumerable life lessons. Playing Malhar Rao’s character has brought me closer to my land, my country and its rich history. I consider it my honour to be part of a show that brings to light the heroic tale of Ahilyabai Holkar. Rajesh Shringarpure has been a part of the industry for over a decade now and has a diverse line of work backing him across the Marathi industry, as well as Bollywood films and television. While the actor has done quite a few mythological shows, Punyashlok Ahilyabai is his first historical show.
