The Weeknd Shares Update On His Voice After Abruptly Ending Concert

The Weeknd will resume his tour with two stops in his hometown of Toronto, Canada, on September 22 and 23 after abruptly ending his concert on Saturday after losing his voice onstage.

The Weeknd had to make an emotional exit on Saturday, during his second show in Los Angeles. After leaving the stage during the second song, the singer came back out and announced that he would not be completing the concert. The singer’s fans are worried for him since then. However, The Weeknd recently shared the amazing news with his fans.

The singer took to his social media and revealed he is all cleared to get back onstage and will pick up his After Hours Til Dawn tour in his hometown of Toronto. He shared the picture of himself onstage while writing in the caption, “Doctor says my voice is safe and with rest, I’ll be solid and able to bring the show my TORONTO fans are waiting for. LA date is being worked out soon.” The singer then thanks his fans for their love and understanding.

Despite the incident, the artist took on the microphone to address the situation and comfort the crowd himself. “I don’t know what just happened… but I just lost my voice,” he explained, per reports and video from the show posted to social media.

The singer continues, “This is killing me, I don’t want to stop the show but I can’t give you the concert I want to give you right now.” “I’m gonna make sure everybody’s good you’ll get your money back– I’ll do a show real soon for you guys,” he continued. “But I wanted to come out and personally apologize.” The Starboy singer took to his social media to share that his voice went out during the first song. He then penned, “I’m devastated. Felt it go and my heart dropped. My deepest apologies to the fans here. I promise I’ll make it up to you with a new date.”
