Margot Robbie Speaks Her Heart Out On “Barbie” & Immensely Praises Her Director Greta Gerwig!

‘Margot Robbie’ & ‘Greta Gerwig’ have delivered the grandest hit last year known as ‘Barbie’. The highly anticipated film garnered immense praise and love by the critics and audiences as well in turn being a box office success by grossing over $1.4 Billion through tickets. The girl duo along with the movie’s cast and crew are being awarded with numerous awards at prestigious platforms. Speaking to Deadline magazine’s portal for a cover story recently, the Barbie girl Margot Robbie shared her heart out in context to Barbie & its humongous success, ”We really never want to avoid or appease anyone in particular. I feel that whenever characters or movies hit and feel successful, they’re holding a mirror to the audience.” The Australian actress wanted the movie should feel personal and intimate to the audience and film fanatics, “All I knew going into it was that there was an opportunity here to do that thing.”

Appreciating her dynamic director Greta Gerwig, Robbie expressed “It took a really smart person like Greta Gerwig to find the story and figure out how to unpack all those things. I knew she wouldn’t be glossing over the spiky bits, which was important in our writer/ director. I knew she wouldn’t be interested in doing that. She always wanted to explore both the good and the bad, because you don’t get a fully formed experience without looking at both.” She added “I always knew it should be Greta who would be able to do it without mocking anything.”

Apart from smashing all cinematic records in Hollywood and globally, Barbie also performed exceptionally well in the Indian markets too. After painting the places pink all over, Barbie has additionally grabbed multiple nominations in almost every possible award ceremony in the cine-world.
