Is ”Top Gun 3″ On Cards In The House Of Paramount Pictures?

Is megastar Tom Cruise set to return as the Main-Man in Paramount Pictures highly anticipated venture Top Gun 3?

Top Gun: Maverick co-writer Ehren Kruger is working on a script for a potential new Maverick film, and rumors have it that director Joe Kosinski will also be directing again. The first report of Kurger’s involvement came from Puck. Reuniting Tom Cruise with his new generation co-stars Glen Powell and Miles Teller is the goal.

This news was released a few days after Warner Bros. Discovery revealed that Cruise had inked a non-exclusive contract to star in and create films for the studio. Despite not having a contract there, Paramount has produced most of the actor’s recent motion pictures. Although the news about Top Gun may seem like a tit for tat in the competition for headlines starring Cruise, the truth is that this sequel has quietly been in development since late times.

Maverick significantly outperformed the box office in 2022, bringing in $1.5 billion worldwide, leading Steven Spielberg to attribute Cruise’s comeback in the theater industry, which had been severely damaged by the coronavirus outbreak. Decades had passed since Tony Scott’s 1986 Top Gun, which solidified Cruise’s status as a budding film star.

It is unlikely that we will see the new Top Gun film anytime soon. Right now, Cruise is working on the eighth Mission: Impossible film, which should keep him busy until May 2025, when it is supposedly released. Additionally, Maverick had to undergo several years of development before he could fly. However, this development confirms what was already clear last week: Cruise is still a popular star, and studios will want him to star as lead in their mega ventures.
