Justin Bieber Suffered ‘Emotional Breakdown’ After Finding Marriage To Hailey Will Not Fix Problems

In the four years since tying the knot, Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber have faced a lot of challenges, most recently overcoming Hailey's health scare.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber exchanged vows in September 2018. And after almost four years, the singer gets candid on his marriage journey. Justin revealed that he suffered a ‘little bit of an emotional breakdown’ after tying the knot with Hailey and later realized that marriage wasn’t going to ‘fix’ all his problems.

During a recent interview, Justin said, “It’s a journey. I remember when I first got married, I hit a little bit of an emotional breakdown because I thought marriage was going to fix all my problems and it didn’t.” The singer continues, “It just kind of was a reflection of like, man, you’re a bit of a hypocrite man.”

Justin went on to say, “You want your wife to do something that you’re not doing, and it’s like, it’s hard sometimes to look in the mirror and really have to realize, man, maybe you’re not the person that you necessarily thought that you were. And that’s just a result of trauma and life circumstances.”

However, Justin and Hailey tied the knot twice after rekindling their romance in 2018, first at a courthouse in 2018, followed by a second ceremony with friends and family present in 2019. In the four years since tying the knot, the couple has faced a lot of challenges, most recently overcoming Hailey’s health scare.

Meanwhile, in 2021, Hailey revealed she turned to her mother Kennya during a difficult time in their marriage. “I remember I called her a few different times, one particular time when we were in Brooklyn and I was calling her, I was crying, and I was like, ‘I just can’t do it. There’s no way that I’m going to be able to do this if it’s going to be like this forever,'” she said on the In Good Faith with Chelsea & Judah Smith podcast.
