On April 20, tragedy struck as Pankaj Tripathi’s brother-in-law lost his life in a car accident. Reports indicate that the actor’s sister, who was also in the car, is currently in stable condition. The duo was en route to Kolkata to witness the filming of Pankaj’s latest project. Emergency services swiftly transported the injured to SNMMCH in Dhanbad, where Rajesh succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, Sabita, who sustained a fractured leg and jaw injury, is reported to be in stable condition, according to ETimes.
A source revealed to the portal, “Pankaj travelled to Kolkata on Sunday morning to be by his sister’s side. They are trying to get her moved from Dhanbad to Kolkata for further treatment.”
As per a police officer cited by news agency PTI, the couple’s vehicle collided with a road barrier at approximately 4:30 PM on the Delhi-Kolkata National Highway-2 in Nirsa Bazar. Sabita is said to be under medical care at Dhanbad Medical College Hospital. Allegedly, the pair was traveling from Bihar to Chittaranjan in West Bengal.
The CCTV footage depicts the moment the car collided with the divider, circulating widely on social media. The severity of the collision is evident from the extent of damage sustained by the vehicle. Watch the video here.
For the unversed, Pankaj Tripathi lost his father back in 2023. On the work front, Pankaj was recently seen in his film, “Main Atal Hoon” and the Netflix series, “Murder Mubarak”, he will soon be seen in the popular Amazon web series, “Mirzapur 3”.
