Game of Thrones may have a spinoff starring Kit Harington’s Jon Snow on HBO

According to rumours, HBO may launch another Game of Thrones spinoff, as well as its first sequel series which might involve Kit Harrington.

According to Deadline, HBO is considering a Game of Thrones spinoff series centred on Kit Harington’s role. The Hollywood Reporter also revealed that the cable network had begun preliminary work on the project. If the film gets created, Harington is anticipated to reprise his role as Jon, a.k.a. Aegon Targaryen, according to both the outlets.

The news comes only two months before HBO premieres House of the Dragon, a prequel series to Game of Thrones. More prequels are in the works, including one based on creator George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg book series. At the conclusion of the last season of Game of Thrones, which aired in 2019, Jon commits a heinous murder, is exiled from Westeros, and rejoins Tormund and his dire wolf Ghost to command the Wildlings north of the Wall.

Harrington told The Hollywood Reporter, “Seeing him go beyond the Wall back to something true, something honest, something pure with these people he was always told he belongs with, the Free Folk, it felt to me like he was finally free. Instead of being chained and sent to the Wall, it felt like he was set free.” “It was a really sweet ending. As much as he had done a horrible thing, as much as he had felt that pain, the actual ending for him was finally being released,” Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow in Game of Thrones revealed.

Since the end of the HBO series’ eight-season run, Harington has acted in Marvel’s film Eternals and earlier this year portrayed the title role in the National Theater’s live performance of Henry V. Kit Harrington is now married to Rose Leslie. For Game of Thrones fans, the couple’s real-life love story was a long time coming as they also portrayed Jon Snow and his lover Ygritte on the small screen.

In a 2016 interview with Vogue Italia, Harington reminisced about falling in love with the actress while they were both shooting for the second season in Iceland. “Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,” Harrington recalled to the magazine. “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it’s becomes very easy to fall in love.”
