Priyanka Chopra Shares Picture Of Her Mother Holding Her And Nick Jonas’ Baby Girl

On Thursday, Priyanka Chopra honoured her mother's birthday with a lovely photo that she shared on her Instagram.

The snapshot featured three generations of her family’s female members. Priyanka sits on the couch with her mother, Madhu, who is holding Malti, Priyanka’s newborn baby with husband Nick Jonas, in an Instagram photo. Priyanka wrote alongside the photo, “Happiest birthday Mama. May you always smile that infectious smile of yours. You inspire me so much with your zest for life and experiences every single day!”

Priyanka also mentioned Madhu’s quick trip to celebrate her big day. “Your solo Europe tour was the best birthday celebration I’ve seen in a while. Love you to the moon and back Nani,” she added. In January, Priyanka and Nick announced the birth of Malti through surrogacy. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family,” they both expressed on Instagram. Their baby’s full name is Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Malti is a Sanskrit term that means a little, fragrant flower or moonlight.

Malti’s first image was taken in May, just in time for Mother’s Day. Along with the shot, they revealed that she spent 100 days in the NICU following her birth. Priyanka took to Instagram to post a sweet photo and wrote, “On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced. After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home.”

“Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is,” she continued. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way. Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let’s get it MM! Mommy and Daddy love you.”

Nick Jonas shared in an interview with People, “I think that what we shared on social media was just kinda the feeling that we had, the gratitude obviously to have our baby home. But also for each and every person that was part of her journey while in the hospital.” “It’s eye-opening in a lot of ways,” he added. And I think it was really important for us to just share that. And make sure that people know that whatever their journey is, whether it’s something like we went through or diabetes or whatever challenges might come up, you’re not alone.”
