From “Deadpool 3” To “Stranger Things”: List of Major Films And Web Series Halted Due to Hollywood Strike

The Ongoing Hollywood Strike Has Caused A Significant Disruption In The Entertainment Industry, Leading To The Suspension Of Several Major Film And Web Series Projects

Hollywood is currently experiencing its most significant strike in six decades, with both actors and writers demanding new contracts from studios and streaming services. As the strike continues, numerous high-profile projects have been forced to halt production.

Movies such as “Deadpool 3,” “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part II,” “Gladiator 2,” “Lilo & Stitch,” and “Venom 3” are among those that have shut down production. Additionally, web series and television shows like “Stranger Things,” “Cobra Kai,” “Big Mouth,” “The Chi,” “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight,” “1923,” “Severance,” “Metropolis,” and “Daredevil: Born Again” have also been affected, with their filming on hold.

However, it is important to note that films that have already completed production and post-production will not be impacted by the strike, and their release plans remain unchanged.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) recently joined the writers in their strike, which had been ongoing since May. This combined strike has united approximately 11,500 members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) with around 16,000 members of SAG-AFTRA.

Fran Drescher, the president of SAG-AFTRA, emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “This is a moment of history, a moment of truth – if we don’t stand tall right now, we are all going to be in trouble.” She underscored the need for unity and highlighted the importance of adapting contracts to address the significant changes in the industry’s business model.

In summary, the ongoing strike in Hollywood, involving both writers and actors, is a response to concerns related to artificial intelligence (AI), fair wages, and equitable profit sharing in the digital era. This collective effort aims to address these issues and ensure that the industry evolves and adapts to the changing landscape.
