BTS Singer Jimin Hospitalized For Appendicitis, Also Diagnosed With Covid-19

BTS singer Jimin experienced a sudden abdominal pain along with a mildly sore throat on January 30. And he has had to undergo surgery for appendicitis. However, he has also tested positive for Covid-19. Meanwhile, the septet’s agency has released an official statement on his health. The official statement of Bighit reads, “Jimin experienced a sudden abdominal pain along with a mildly sore throat on January 30 in the afternoon.

The Bighit statement continues, “He visited the hospital emergency room for a thorough examination and also took a PCR test. Jimin was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and was tested positive for COVID-19. He underwent surgery following physician advice early morning on Monday, January 31.” The statement then continues noting that the surgery was successful and Jimin is currently recovering after his procedure.

Bts’ Jimin would also be receiving a few days of in-patient treatment for Covid-19, in conjunction with postoperative care, as the statement reads. However, Jimin is experiencing a mild sore throat, but is making a ‘speedy recovery,’ the statement continued. Meanwhile, the statement ended while noting that the company places the artists’ health as the top priority and they’re doing everything they can to aid Jimin in quick recovery.

Bighit also asked for cooperation with requests and guidelines of the healthcare authorities. However, Jimin is the fourth member of the band who tested positive for COVID-19. Last month, Jin, Suga, and RM had tested positive and experienced mild symptoms. The news of the three members’ positive COVID-19 test results comes after BTS announced that it would be taking a break from the music scene earlier this month.

Big Hit Music announced in a statement on Twitter that Suga, RM, Jin, Jungkook, J-Hope, Jimin, and V, would be taking ‘a second official extended period of rest’ and won’t be performing.
