Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor were the top actresses during their time. As they were both popular, their feud was not hidden, and they had fierce competition with each other. Though they have not spoken about it, but many have revealed the full extent of their rivalry.
However, in the 1990s, rumours circulated that Raveena was dating Ajay Devgn, but they eventually broke up, and Ajay started dating Karisma Kapoor.
In an old interview with Rediff, when Raveena was asked why she was not posing for a picture with Karisma, the ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ actress bluntly slammed her, saying, ‘It doesn’t make me a superstar if I pose with Karisma Kapoor today. She doesn’t feature in my life in any way. I’m a professional, and I don’t care. I would pose with a broomstick if need be. Karisma and I are not the best of friends. Ditto with Ajay. Professionally, I’m ready to work with Ajay or Karisma. When it comes to work, I don’t bother about these silly ego problems,’ added Raveena.
Later, in a 2007 episode of ‘Koffee With Karan,’ filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan revealed that Raveena and Karisma’s feud was the ‘worst fight’ she had ever witnessed. She recounted an incident from the sets of Sanjay Gupta’s directorial debut ‘Aatish: Feel The Fire’ (1994), when Karan Johar asked her, ‘Which is the worst fight you have seen between two actresses?’ Farah replied, ‘I was once doing a song with Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon, long ago, in a film called ‘Aatish.’ They were both having some kind of teenage spat. They were hitting each other with their wigs. One was hitting, and the other was stamping her foot with her heel. It was quite childish. I’m sure they will laugh about it now.’
Even in an interview with Lehren, Raveena revealed that she had lost many films due to politics and was replaced by Karisma Kapoor in the movie ‘Saajan Chale Sasural.’
