Rakesh Roshan has directed several films, with some achieving success and others not performing well at the box office. However, on January 14, 2000, he introduced his son in Bollywood with “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai,” which turned into a massive hit. Yet, just a week after its release on January 21, 2000, Rakesh was shot by unidentified attackers.
The incident occurred outside his office in Mumbai, where he was wounded. One bullet hit his arm, and another struck his chest. The event left the industry and Hrithik Roshan in shock. Hrithik spoke about this at the 2021 Filmfare Awards, saying, “As you all know, in the past few weeks my family has been through a lot. We have witnessed joy, happiness, success, fear, sadness over the last few days. My father who believes in doing good work was recently attacked by unknown assailants .”
He continued, ” On that day, I just couldn’t help but feel, I was losing faith in hard work and goodness in the world. Basically, nothing made sense and I wanted to quit even before things begun for me. But something changed all that. Something changed what I thought. On that day in the hospital when you came and I saw your faces and in your your own special way you made me feel that I was not alone, that I’ll never be alone.”
Hrithik’s upcoming project includes the film ‘Fighter,’ where he will be sharing the screen with Anil Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Directed by Siddharth Annad, recognized for his work on ‘Pathaan,’ ‘Fighter’ is an aerial action movie, marking the inaugural installment in the aerial action franchise. The movie was announced in January 2021 and is scheduled for a 2024 release.
Vishal Shekhar is crafting the music for ‘Fighter,’ while the production is helmed by Viacom 18 Studios and Marflix Pictures. The filming took place across various locations, encompassing Assam, Hyderabad, Jammu & Kashmir, Mumbai, and more.
