“Was God Hanuman Deaf?” – Said Adipurush Director Om Raut In Old Tweet

An old tweet of Adipurush director Om Raut has re-surfaced online in which he wrote, "Was Lord Hanuman deaf?"

An old tweet of filmmaker Om Raut has surfaced online that isn’t sitting well with the netizens. Om Raut, who proudly presented his mythological film Adipurush to the world this week, made a tweet on Hanuman Jayanti, which is quite upsetting for believers of the Hindu faith. Om Raut’s controversial tweet dates back to 2015.

He wrote, “Was God Hanuman deaf? People across my building think so. Playing loud music, like “really loud” on Hanuman Jayanti. Plus all irrelevant songs.”

This tweet was re-shared by Twitter pages like Delhiite and The Right Wing Guy.

As it resurfaced online, Om Raut instantly deleted it.

This tweet has shocked the netizens. People are laughing at his hypocritical behavior who calls Lord Hanuman “deaf” and expresses displeasure over the public display of religious sentiments, but ends up making an entire film, promoting it aggressively and even reserving a seat for Lord Hanuman in every theatre for every show as if Lord Hanuman really needs a PVR seat.

A user blasted at Raut by writing, “No, Lord Hanuman wasn’t deaf. And he wasn’t a tapori too like you have projected him in your film and are using him now as a shield to hide the fact that you use religion for commerce.”

Recently, Om Raut was brutally criticized for kissing Kriti Sanon in the premises of Tirupti temple. A video surfaced online when the crew was in Tirupati to promote Adipurush. As they were exiting the temple after darshan, Om Raut gave a kiss to Kriti Sanon on her cheek.

Adipurush is now facing a boycott trend on social media. People are upset with the “Islamification” and “glamourisation” in the film.
