A throwback video that recently made the rounds on the internet shows Taapsee Pannu appearing on Kareena Kapoor’s chat show, ‘What Women Want with Kareena Kapoor Khan.’ When Bebo asked her that since she is also from Delhi and in India, Delhi is considered the most unsafe city, what differences does she think Delhi has compared to other countries?
She answered, “Actually jab pehle Delhi se bahar nahi nikli thi, wahin pe school, college tha. Toh samajh nahi aata tha, ki ye alag hai kya? Mujhe lagta tha saare hi aise hote hai, ki sabmein iss tarah k ajeeb chedhkhani hogi DTC buses mein, because I have travelled in DTC buses mere college time mein. And on road chalte toh darr lagta hi hai, koi touch karega, koi idhar se and all woh hadse har Delhi ki ladki ke sath hue hai kahin na kahin i different extreme levels.
She said that when she went to different cities for her work, she didn’t see anything like that. Girls had the permission to go out, and there wasn’t a specific time for coming back by 8 o’clock. That’s when she realized that Delhi is the most unsafe.
Taapsee Pannu further added, “Even for my parents back home. Jab mein Delhi land karti hoo, tabse unhe samaj aata hai ki accha ab isko 8 baje ke baad har 1 minute ke baad call karke puchna hai ki pohchi ki nahi ghar but in that Mumbai they don’t bother asking.
After the video surfaced on the internet, many agreed with Taapsee Pannu.
