Taylor Swift
According to a report from People, Taylor Swift will once again be absent from the event this year. Is there a chance she could surprise everyone by attending with her boyfriend Travis Kelce? The last time she graced New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art was in 2016, an eventful year referenced in her song “Dress” from the album Reputation. In the song, she reflects on meeting her then-boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn, for the first time at the Met.
Travis Kelce
Previously, TMZ reported that both Taylor and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, would be absent from the Met Gala. Travis will be accompanying Taylor during her Eras Tour, commencing in Paris on May 9, as a show of support.
Billy Porter
Billy Porter, a familiar face at the Met Gala, will be absent this year due to the recent passing of his mother in February. Speaking with E! News at the TIME 100 Gala last month, he expressed, “I just lost my mom, I have to take care of myself, so I’m doing that. And that means not going to the party sometimes.”
Jared Leto
Who could forget Jared Leto’s memorable arrival at last year’s Met Gala, donning a colossal cat costume complete with whiskers? However, there won’t be a repeat of that iconic moment this year, as he’ll be embarking on the Seasons World Tour. Leto expressed to E! News, “Back on the road. It’s been five years. I will be there in spirit with my head and my cat, wishing everybody a beautiful night.”
Priyanka Chopra
In a recent interview with Access Hollywood during the promotional tour for the documentary film Tiger, where she serves as the narrator, Priyanka confirmed that she won’t be attending the Met Gala this year. She cited her ongoing filming commitments for Heads of State as the reason for her absence.
