However, when fans disrespect the artist by throwing objects or disrupting performances, it tarnishes what should be a joyous celebration of music and creativity. A viral video captured Sunidhi Chauhan’s reaction when a member of the audience hurled a water bottle at her during her performance. The bottle landed perilously close to her, leaving her visibly startled.
@rishabhuncutnews posted the video on Instagram, and it garnered over 44,000 views within hours. The incident occurred during a concert in Dehradun while Chauhan was performing one of her iconic songs, narrowly avoiding being hit by the bottle.
Addressing the action, Sunidhi said, “Yeh kya ho raha hai? Bottle phenkne se kya hoga? Show ruk jayega. Do you want that?”. Reacting to the video many fans and netizens condemned the act. A user wrote, “This is so pathetic behaviour she deserves complete respect.”
A user commented, “What’s wrong with that guy ? He must be expelled from the school! Sunidhi ji is such a legend and down to earth personality who handled the situation very calmly ! Shame on that guy and college authorities”.
In an interview with HindustanTimes, the singer addressed the incident and said, “I was performing my second last song and the crowd was having a blast. They were hurling bottles in the air and one fell on the stage as it had water in it. When I said, ‘Yeh kya ho raha hai? Show ruk jayega, so they responded sweetly, ‘No, please don’t! The kids were just having fun”.
