Sonu Sood Responds After Samrat Prithviraj Didn’t Receive Desired Response On Box Office

Samrat Prithviraj starring, Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chillar, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonu Sood have been released in multiplexes on June 3rd. The film received mixed responses from the audience as it took a low flight at the box office on the first day while showing some progress over the weekend. While now the Samrat Prithviraj actor Sonu Sood has opened up on the performance of the film at the box office, here’s what he has to say-

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood was recently seen in the historical drama film, Samrat Prithviraj in which he plays the role of Chand Bardai. In a recent interview the Samrat Prithviraj actor opened up about the film’s dismal performance at the box office, he said, “The film is very special. I got a chance to portray a wonderful character and people gave it a lot of love. I am very thankful to the audience for showering us with their love. It might not have got as much business as expected, but we have to accept that things are a bit different after the pandemic. Having said that, I’d say I am very happy with it and with how much love people have shown it.”

During the interview, the actor also opened up about his upcoming projects, and said, that he has something very exciting that he wants to share with the world. The actor told that he has been working day and night on his upcoming project and will share the details with his fans about it on 7 June. So his fans have to wait for the surprise. He mentioned that his upcoming project will make his fans proud and hopefully his fans will love and support him throughout.

Akshay Kumar starrer Samrat Prithviraj seems to be struggling to stay afloat at the box office. The historical drama, which was expected to collect a good number, is seeing a slow run at the theatres. On Day 4, the YRF production amassed around Rs 5 crore net. As per trade estimates, this is over 50 percent down from its release day on June 3. As per BoxOfficeIndia, Samrat Prithviraj is doing better in select pockets, with a major drop in the region of Maharashtra. Its total collection stands at around Rs 44 crore and is expected to touch Rs 56 crore net in its first week.

Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chillar, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonu Sood starrer were released in multiplexes on June 3rd after a name change from originally titled Prithviraj. The historical drama is based on Prithviraj Raso, a poem penned by Chand Bardai, a court poet of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan in the 12th century.
