Samrat Prithviraj Box Office Collection On 1st Weekend: Film Shows Growth

Akshay Kumar's latest release Samrat Prithviraj shows growth, scores double-digit business over the weekend.

Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited film Prithviraj entered the box office with a sturdy growth unlike what had been expected from this much-anticipated film. However, over the weekend, the film showed some growth in the figures making double-digit business over the weekend and bagging Rs 16 crores.

Samrat Prithviraj Box Office Collection on 1st Weekend:

Akshay Kumar’s film Prithviraj had grossed Rs 10.70 crore on Friday, it collected Rs 12.50 crore on Saturday, and on Sunday the film minted Rs 16 crores. With this, the total collection of Samrat Prithviraj now stands at Rs 39 crores approx. Sharing the figures trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared on Twitter and wrote, “#SamratPrithviraj early estimates for Day 3 is 16 Crs Nett.. All-India.”

Taking the opening weekend collection of Samrat Prithviraj to Rs. 40 crores. The movie needs to earn around Rs. 8 crores on Monday to have a shot at Rs. 100 crores and we can know about this by tomorrow evening. Meanwhile, Vikram and Major have done extremely well in the local markets. While Vikram earned Rs 42 crore for the Tamil version in the opening weekend while Major has Rs 17 crore plus collection for the original Telugu version.

Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chillar, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonu Sood starrer were released in multiplexes on June 3rd after a name change from originally titled Prithviraj. The historical drama is based on Prithviraj Raso, a poem penned by Chand Bardai, a court poet of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan in the 12th century.
