Sharmila Tagore Talks About Saif Ali Khan-Amrita Singh’s Divorce On KWK8

At chat show Koffee With Karan 8, Sharmila Tagore opened up about Saif Ali Khan-Amrita Singh's sudden marriage and decision to divorce.

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan recently graced the chat show Koffee With Karan 8 with his mother Sharmila Tagore. In the latest episode, the mother and son duo were seen making revelations about their personal and professional lives. During the conversation, Sharmila Tagore opened up about the divorce of her son Saif Ali Khan with his ex-wife, Amrita Singh.

During the conversation, Saif Ali Khan revealed that his mother Sharmila was in Mumbai to meet him when he broke the news to his mother that he had married Amrita Singh a day before. He revealed that his mother started “crying” after she knew of his sudden marriage.

Saif then further revealed that Sharmila Tagore was also the first person who knew about his divorce from Amrita Singh. Addressing their split Sharmila Tagore revealed that Saif and Amrita’s divorce was the tough time for their family. She said, “When you are together for such a long time and you have such lovely children, then no break up is easy. Then it is not a harmonious one.”.

She added, “I know it is difficult to have harmony at that stage, everybody is hurt so that stage was not nice but I tried. But that’s water under the bridge, she needed time to cool down.” Sharmila also revealed that it was a tough time for their family since they lost both Amrita and her grandkids Sara and Ibrahim to the divorce.

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan revealed that he had a good time with Amrita and now shares a respectful bond with her. He said, “Unfortunately, doing it at 20 is young, and things change, but it was great support, she was wonderful to me. She is the mother of two of my children. I have a good relationship with her and it’s all respectful now”.
