Sharad Kelkar Had Smashed Glass With His Hand And Got 150 Stitches; The Actor Said, ‘She Was Extremely Scared’

Sharad Kelkar, a well-known actor and distinguished voice-over artist, has left an indelible mark in the entertainment industry with his versatile talents. While recognized for his impactful roles in films such as “Tanhaji” and “Housefull 4,” there is more to Sharad Kelkar’s journey than his on-screen achievements.

The actor, who is married to TV actress Keerti Gaekwad, collaborated with her on the TV series “Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka” and “Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar.” Keerti, renowned for her roles in popular Hindi TV shows like “Sasural Simar Ka” and “Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki,” showcased her culinary skills in the cooking reality show “Kitchen Champion” in 2019.

Behind the scenes, Sharad Kelkar’s life took an unexpected turn due to his struggle with anger issues. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, he revealed a shocking incident that led to 150 stitches and surgery. Despite the incident not affecting his professional work, it deeply impacted his personal life.

Recalling the episode, Sharad shared, “I banged the glass, and it broke completely on my hand. Keerti witnessed this, she was extremely scared. I was in the hospital, and I saw how she was crying outside. It made a huge impact on my life, and I decided to turn calm. She did have fear, but I also saw that hope in her eyes.”

Kelkar emphasized that although he never raised his hands on anyone, his “strong perspectives towards life” needed a change. The incident became a turning point, prompting him to adopt a more tranquil and respectful demeanor. He spoke about his initial struggles in Mumbai, where he faced challenges like stammering and financial constraints. These hurdles taught him the importance of hard work and persistence, eventually leading to his breakthrough in the TV show “Sindoor Tere Naam Ka.”

Apart from his contributions to Bollywood, Sharad Kelkar has also made significant strides in the Marathi and Telugu film industries. Looking ahead, he is set to feature in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming Prime Video web series, “Indian Police Force,” alongside stellar co-stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, and Vivek Oberoi.
