Pathaan Controversy: BJP Leader Ram Kadam Threatens Ban On The Film

Pathaan: Siddharth Anand’s film Pathaan has sparked extreme outrage on the internet. Apparently, the film’s recently released song “Besharam Rang” has garnered a lot of attention after netizens claimed that the song featured “vulgar visuals” and so now they have demanded the film and the song to be permanently banned.

Fueling the controversy BJP MLA Ram Kadam has now also expressed his discontent with the film’s song. Taking to his Twitter handle BJP MLA Ram Kadam wrote, “The film ‘Pathaan’ has been strongly opposed by many saints and Hindu organizations as well as crores of people on social media. At present, Maharashtra has a government that runs on the Hindutva ideology, so it will be better if the film’s director and producers step up and clear their stand on what is being said.”

Threatening a ban over the film BJP MLA added, “But one thing is certain. Be it any film or serial, if it insults Hindutva, it won’t be screened in Maharashtra.” Apart from Ram Kadam many other politicians also shared their discontent on the film’s song.

Recently state home minister Narottam Mishra expressed his discontent over Deepika Padukone’s “Saffron” colored outfits in Pathaan’s song “Besharam Rang”. He said, “Actress Deepika Padukone’s costume is highly objectionable and the song has been shot with a dirty mindset. The scenes and costumes of the songs should be changed, or we will have to take a decision on ist screening in Madhya Pradesh,”

For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan has been facing extreme backlash for its song “Besharam Rang”. Apparently, a segment of netizens have claimed that the song features “vulgar visuals”. Many politicians even expressed their discontent over the use of saffron color in Deepika Padukone’s outfits. Many people even demanded a ban on the film.
