Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor recently attended the King Charles’s coronation concert in London on Sunday. Sonam was the only Indian celebrity who was invited to the event. Being the only Indian celeb, the actress also delivered a long speech at the ceremony, however, the actress is now getting brutally trolled, as many netizens have now called her speech at the event “embarrassing”.
A clip from the King Charles’s coronation concert is now going viral on reddit, in which Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor could be seen giving out her speech. The actress started her speech as she greeted the audience with “namaste”. She further added, “Our commonwealth is a union, together we are one third of the world’s people, one third of the world’s ocean, one quarter of the world’s land. Each of our country is unique. Each of our people is special. But we choose to stand as one. Learning from our history, blessed by our diversity, driven by our values and determined to build a more peaceful, sustainable and prosperous future for everyone, where every voice is heard. However, her speech didn’t go down well with the netizens. Apparently, a segment of reddit users came out and criticized the actress for her speech at the event. Reacting to the video a user commented, “What the actual f*ck? She says “learning from History”? BC they looted our country!”, “This is giving me second hand embarrassment. Can she not enjoy her retirement far away from the cameras?”, another user wrote, “This is embarrassing. As if going to the event itself wasn’t embarrassing enough. It’s giving 5th std English elocution competition. Maybe she did it on purpose, as revenge.”
Meanwhile, Sonam’s mother Sunita Kapoor also shared her speech video on her Instagram and wrote, “So proud! Such an honour!”. Reacting to the video, Sonam’s brother Arjun Kapoor and aunt Maheep Kapoor also showered the post with heart emoji.
