Back in 2023, it was announced that Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh would be taking over the Don franchise following the steps of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan in the film. While Ranveer has been taken to replace SRK, now Farhan Akhtar has officially announced Kiara Advani as a part of the cast. Reportedly, Kiara will be playing the female lead role in the film.

Announcing Kiara Advani’s inclusion in the franchise, Farhan Akhtar wrote, “Welcome to the Don universe @advani_kiara#Don3”.

Reacting to the announcement fans urged the makers to bring back OG actor Shah Rukh Khan in the film. A user wrote, “You have literally joked with this franchise. In people wildest dream no can ever possibly think of @RanveerOfficial is replacing @iamsrk You definitely lost me atleast not sure abt many.”
One wrote, “We miss SRK… I can’t imagine Ranveer as a DON.. WORST IDEA EVER.. never watch this movie”, talking about Kiara replacing Priyanka, a user wrote, “Worst decision. She cannot replace Priyanka Aunty.”
Ranbir Kapoor Was Another Choice For Don 3
As per a Times Now report, OG actor Shah Rukh Khan opted out of Don 3 since he wasn’t convinced with the script of the film. Following SRK’s exit from the film Farhan Akhtar then approached Ranbir Kapoor for the role, however, the Animal actor refused to take on the offer. Eventually, Farhan offered the role to Ranveer Singh who will now take on the franchise.

Speaking to Deadline, Ranveer Singh previously opened up about taking up the franchise, he said, “It is the handing over of the baton of one of the most loved and revered franchises of Hindi cinema. The significance of that is not lost on me. When the announcement was made, as expected, it came with its share of skepticism. But throughout the history of cinema, this has happened. Even as recently as perhaps when the Bond franchise changed hands and they announced Daniel Craig as the new Bond, it came with its fair share of skepticism. So, this is only natural”.
