The much-awaited film ‘Project K’, now officially titled ‘Kalki2898AD,’ boasts a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in leading roles. The first sneak peek of the movie was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), creating immense excitement among fans.

The SDCC panel featured Nag Ashwin, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Rana Daggubati, while Big B joined in via video call. During the event, Kamal Haasan shared his candid thoughts on Hindi films and revealed a surprising confession. Despite being an assistant director on the iconic film ‘Sholay,’ he admitted hating the movie and its filmmaker. “I was an assistant director on Sholay. I couldn’t sleep the night I watched it because I hated the film so much. I hated the filmmaker even more. I had the opportunity of working with a great filmmaker and that was my reaction and I told him. As a technician, I couldn’t sleep that night and Amitji has done many such movies. Him saying nice things about my films is something I had never imagined,”

‘Sholay,’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, and Jaya Bachchan, is widely regarded as a masterpiece of Indian cinema.

Under the guidance of director Nag Ashwin, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ promises to transport audiences to an entirely unexplored world within Indian cinema. Set in the distant future of 2898 AD, the film seamlessly blends futuristic elements with an engrossing narrative, offering an unparalleled and immersive cinematic experience.

Produced by C Aswani Dutt from Vyjayanthi Movies, this magnum opus is scheduled to grace the screens on January 12, 2024.
