Here’s What Pankaj Tripathi Said About The Clash Between “OMG 2” And “Gadar 2”

Sunny Deol's Previous Film, "Gadar," Had A Face-Off With Aamir Khan's "Lagaan" In The Past

Actor Pankaj Tripathi is all set to appear in “OMG 2” alongside Akshay Kumar, and he remains unfazed by any potential clash with Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2.” The talented actor is solely focused on his role in “OMG 2” and his other exciting upcoming projects.

“I do not pay attention to anything other than acting,” said Pankaj Tripathi. “If four films are being released and all four are good, then all will work. I do not worry about how many screens my film is releasing. I don’t even know where my film is releasing. Acting is my job, and I have no idea about the business side of the film,” he told Hindustan Times.

Sunny Deol’s previous film, “Gadar,” had a face-off with Aamir Khan’s “Lagaan” in the past, and the actor recently shared his thoughts on the clash between “Gadar 2” and “OMG 2.”

In an interview with Times Of India, Sunny stated, “I don’t understand why people compare films. ‘Gadar’ grossed over ₹100 crore, while ‘Lagaan’ earned much less. I don’t understand why people compare films, whether it’s in terms of business or likability. ‘Gadar’ faced some misconceptions, with people thinking it was just another masala film with old-fashioned songs. On the other hand, ‘Lagaan’ was perceived as a classic, and so-called film experts compared the two unfairly, negatively impacting ‘Gadar.’ However, despite that, ‘Gadar’ went on to become a people’s film, and they loved it. Even at award shows, a spoof was made of ‘Gadar,’ but it didn’t bother us. Such comparisons have happened before with some of my other films like ‘Ghayal’ and ‘Dil,’ which clashed at the box office. There is no genuine comparison, but people still like to do it.”

Sunny further emphasized, “What I am trying to say is that no matter how good a film is, you still compare it with other films. Don’t compare something that can’t be compared.”

Both “OMG 2” and “Gadar 2” are scheduled to hit theatres on August 11th, setting the stage for an exciting clash at the box office.
