When Lara Dutta Bashed Up A Man During The Promotion Of ‘Andaaz’

Lara Dutta punched up a man who pinched her in the crowd at the promotional event of her debut film 'Andaaz' and Akshay Kumar came to save that man.

Miss Universe 2003 and actress Lara Dutta is not bold about her fashion only, but when it comes to action, the Ranneeti actress is bold and straight as well for all those who will try to hit upon her. The actress once beat a man who tried to harass her physically. In an exclusive conversation with Hautterfly, the actress recalled the incident when she hit a man during the promotion of her debut film ‘Andaaz’ in 2003.

In Andaaz, Akshay Kumar and Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra portrayed the prominent roles along with Lara Dutta. And during one of the promotional events, someone pinched her in the crowd. Sharing the incident, the actress said, “I’ve faced a lot of eve-teasing incidents of course, and I’ve also talked about them. During the music release of my debut film Andaaz, Priyanka (Chopra), Akshay (Kumar), and I went to Rhythm House at Chandni Chowk in Delhi. I was wearing a sari. As we were trying to get into Rhythm House, a huge crowd had erupted since Miss World (Priyanka) and Miss Universe were coming together on screen for the first time, and there was Akshay Kumar. So someone pinched me. I realised something’s wrong, and probably due to my army background training, I pulled him out and he fell down on the road. But then I bashed him up so badly, in a sari. Akshay got very worried, and he pulled me away from him, and said, ‘What are you doing? You’re an actor now. You can’t be doing all this’ (Laughs).”

On the professional front, the actress recently shared the screen with Jimmy Shergill in a web series, ‘Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond’, released on 25th April on JioCinema. And it is said that she will be part of the upcoming ‘Ramayana’ movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
