The film narrates the story of Indian Women’s team captain Mithali Raj. Shabaash Mithu will uncurtain the struggle of women in blue in the male-dominated sport. Taapsee Pannu will be seen essaying the role of Mithali Raj. The movie directed by Srijit Mukherji is set to hit theaters on 15th July.

Chakda Xpress is inspired by the story of another female cricketer. The movie will narrate the story of Jhulan Goswami who fulfills her dream of playing cricket for India in spite of politics in the game. The character of Goswami will be played by Anushka Sharma. The movie marks the return of the PK actress to the silver screen after four years.

Liger is another Indian Sports action film starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday. The movie is the story of a Mumbai slumdog boy who aims to become a boxer. The Telugu star plays a titular role in the rags to riches story of the MMA champion. The movie marks the debut of Vijay in Bollywood. This sports drama is inspired by the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Helmed by Amit Sharma the movie will portray the golden era of Indian football. Maidaan will feature Ajay Devgn in the role of Indian football coach Abdul.
- Mr. & Mrs. Mahi
Dharma Production has set the field for the next cricket-themed film starring Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. The Roohi pair will reunite for this upcoming sports drama as they will play the role of Mahendra and Mahima. Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Karan Johar.
