Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Born To Shine’ Tour Breaks Multiple Records! Here’s How!

The 'Vibe' singer's ongoing tour 'Born to shine' has been smashing multiple records! Read to know how exactly!

Diljit Dosanjh is one of the most popular singers and songwriters in India at the moment and when the young singer announced a world tour, fans couldn’t seem to contain their excitement. His concert tour ‘Born to shine’ is said to make stops at ten North American venues. Touted to be the ‘Indian Drake’, the ‘Vibe’ singer kick-started his in Vancouver on June 19th.

Apart from being extremely successful, the grout has also been making headlines for breaking multiple records. Here’s a highlight of the Vancouver tour!

RECORD BREAKER

Diljit made a historic debut at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, becoming the only Indian to have performed at the centre. Not only this, the show was an epic success, as it was a sold-out show with a crowd capacity of almost 18000 fans. “It has been more than 2 years since I performed live with my last live show taking place in Mumbai in early 2020, so I am incredibly excited for this tour. I’m pleased to partner with Live Nation and Saregama Live to elevate the experience of the show. The intent is to give these special performances to my fans – I truly hope to deliver all that we have imagined and planned for this tour” he shared about the tour.

FOR THE COMMUNITY

During his shows, Diljit made it a point to dedicate his show to the three lions of Punjab, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, Deep Sidhu and Sandeep Singh Sandhu. The ‘Lover’ singer also performed a song about people defaming the state on gun culture. For the unversed, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu is the real name of Sidhu Moose Wala, the younger singer in a tragic set event, who was shot dead a few weeks back, setting the whole industry in a state of grief. As Diljit performed, a large screen on the stage showed pictures of the 3 artists, captioned as ‘This show is dedicated to our brothers’.

Some of his show’s lyrics touched the fans’ hearts, as it echoed similar sentiments. “Moose Wala naam dilan ute likheya, bhai khasa jor lag ju mituan vaaste” (Moose Wala’s name has been written on heart, and it would not be easy to erase” read one of his lyrics.
