Versatile actors Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah have come together, not for a film, but for an event this time. Both actors were seen attending the book launch event of writer Maria Goretti in Mumbai, who also happens to be Arshad Warsi’s wife. The book is titled ‘To The Moon & Back’ and is published by ‘Om Books’. Many other famous faces from the industry, including Ratna Pathak Shah (Naseeruddin Shah’s wife) and Harshvardhan Rane, graced the event with their presence.
While interacting with the media about the book, Arshad said, “No, the book is not based on me. I wouldn’t even read a book written about me. I don’t want any film made about me; I just want films to have me and my work. I’m not interested in my autobiography,” the actor laughed. On his professional commitments, the actor informed, “I cannot speak much on this topic due to secrecy, but as you know, there are films like ‘Ghamasaan’ and ‘Bhagwat’ which are going to be released along with ‘Welcome to the Jungle.’ That’s all I can say for now.”
Actor Naseeruddin Shah was also seen speaking to the reporters. He stated, “I haven’t read the book yet; I just went through a poem written by Maria in the book about Arshad. As he has been my favorite and most special co-star in my entire life, I wanted to know what Maria thinks about Arshad and also wonder how a beautiful woman like her married Arshad,” Shah giggled.
Both the actors have worked together in a number of films like ‘Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachaao,’ ‘Ishqiya,’ ‘Irada,’ while their most talked-about film as co-actors remains ‘Dedh Ishqiya,’ along with ace actress Madhuri Dixit. Warsi and Shah’s performances on the silver screen are widely hailed, as the duo never fails to impress and entertain the audience.
Arshad’s wife, Maria Gorreti, started off as a VJ (Video Jockey) with MTV channel and also played a brief role in the movie ‘Raghu Romeo.’ In addition, she has also earned praise from critics for her writings and books. The couple has been married since 1999.
