It's Important To Note That These Celebrities Are Not Accused In The Case But Will Be Questioned

The Enforcement Directorate has recently summoned actor-comedian Kapil Sharma and three famous actresses, including Shraddha Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, and Hina Khan. It was also reported that star actor Ranbir Kapoor was summoned by the Central Agency (ED) in the same case on October 4th, but he did not appear. Day by day, there has been a growing trend of Bollywood stars being called in by the agency regarding the ‘Mahadev Betting App’ case.

According to Mint, an ED lawyer named Saurabh Pandey explained the Mahadev betting app case, stating, “The Mahadev app is a betting portal, and it is a case of money laundering. The Raipur ED office initiated the probe, leading to the arrest of four individuals. As the investigation progressed, many names came to light, and we issued summons to several individuals. Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor’s name also surfaced, and we issued a summon under section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He did not appear today but requested one week’s time through email. We will determine the next steps.”

Recently, news agency ANI tweeted, “ED has summoned comedian Kapil Sharma and actor Huma Qureshi in connection with the Mahadev betting app case: ED Sources.” Actor Hina Khan has also been called for the same purpose, as reported by News18.

It’s important to note that these celebrities are not accused in the case but will be questioned to determine their knowledge related to the mode and flow of payments made and the sources of money connected to the app and its founders.

The ‘Mahadev Betting App’ is a platform where people can place bets on various online games such as poker, card games, badminton, tennis, and more. The founders of the app, Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, are based in Dubai, where betting is legal, but it is illegal in India.
