Aamir Khan Talks About His Chemistry With “Mann” Actress Manisha Koirala

Aamir Khan shed the light on the difference between his chemistry with Manisha Koirala in 'Akele Hum Akele Tum' and 'Mann'.

Versatile actor on the silver screen, Aamir Khan, celebrates his 69th birthday today, March 14. He always teams up with his onscreen co-star so well, that their bond seems real. He shared the screen with many actresses, including Kajol, Juhi Chawla, Karisma Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma etc. These duos made their fans crazy with their intense on-screen chemistry. Manisha Koirala is one of the actresses with whom Aamir did a really great job. But their off-screen and on -screen bond didn’t blossom in the first meeting, not even during their first movie. Yes, Aamir shared the experience of working with Manisha in the movies “Akele Hum Akele Tum” and “Mann”.

In an exclusive interview with Lehren, talking about how their chemistry blossomed on-screen, he said, “It was quite different with her. Earlier we did ‘Akele Hum Akele Tum’ with her. Most of the film we were apart. We didn’t have many scenes together and even scenes we had together, we were constantly fighting. I mean not on the set but in the scenes. Scenes are very dramatic and emotional and lot of pain and relationship is quite difficult. So this (Mann) is gonna different experience. This is the love story.”

Before Akele Hum Akele Tum, Aamir hadn’t met Manisha. There was no social interaction between them. On the sets of Akele Hum Akele Tum, he used to be quiet, aloof and alone. So that the lack of chemistry or tension between them comes out on-screen even in the scenes as it was need of the film. But only the sets of Mann, Manisha and Aamir got along with each other and had a great time. Even the actress observed the change in his behaviour. Manisha told him, “You were really reserved in Akele Hum Alele Tum. It was really strange working with you.” Of course, Aamir justified it. In their first movie, the tension between him and Manisha was really required, and it was his psychological thing that he was liking that tension between them. But while shooting for Mann, they got to know each other. Aamir lauded his co-actress Manisha, saying, “She is a lovely person and great to work with.”

In the exclusive conversation, he talked about how the title Mann came and his involvement in these both the movies.
