Did You Know Prabhas Doesn’t Like His Title ‘Young Rebel Star’? Read To Know Why

In a lesser-known fact, Prabhas once revealed in an interview during the "Mirchi" release that he isn't entirely comfortable with titles and prefers just being Prabhas.

Telugu star Prabhas, celebrating his birthday on Monday, made his debut with “Eeswar” in 2002 and gained fame with “Varsham” in 2004. By 2013, he was already known as the “Young Rebel Star” when his action-packed film “Mirchi” hit theaters. This was all before his meteoric rise to national stardom with SS Rajamouli’s “Bahubali: The Beginning” in 2015.

In a lesser-known fact, Prabhas once revealed in an interview during the “Mirchi” release that he isn’t entirely comfortable with titles and prefers just being Prabhas. He explained, “I am never really comfortable with titles. If left to me, I will simply use Prabhas. I tried to convince my friends to drop ‘Young Rebel Star’ for Mirchi but they convinced me otherwise. My fans love that title, and they did not want to disappoint them. I agreed to it. My fans are most important to me, and whatever they like is what I will like.”

During the same interview, Prabhas also mentioned that he would stick to mainstream entertainers and avoid parallel cinema or art films. He emphasized his dedication to experimenting within the boundaries of his image, as seen in films like “Darling” and “Mr. Perfect.” These choices were his way of breaking away from a string of action films. At the time, he was gearing up for the action-packed entertainer “Bahubali.”

On the workfront, Prabhas is all set for a box-office clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki which will release on the same day as Prashanth Neel’s Salaar Part One which features Prabhas. Both films will release on Christmas this year.

Apart from Salaar, Prabhas also has Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD.
