Jailer To Get A Sequel, Film To Be Titled As “Hukum”?

As per the reports, makers are gearing up for the sequel of Rajinikanth's film, "Jailer" which is tentatively titled as "Hukum".

Amidst the anticipation among Rajinikanth’s fans for updates on his collaboration with Lokesh Kanagraj, there’s news regarding his project with Nelson – “Jailer 2.” According to recent reports, “Jailer 2” is provisionally named “Hukum,” and Nelson is set to commence pre-production activities in June 2024.

According to recent reports, the initial draft of “Jailer 2” has been completed and the team is highly satisfied with Nelson’s concept. A source revealed to Pinkvilla that Nelson is dedicated to delving deeper into Rajinikanth’s character as Tiger, also known as Muthuvel Pandian, and has devised an ideal sequel to progress the narrative. His concept has garnered approval from Rajinikanth and Sun Pictures, paving the way for Nelson to kickstart pre-production activities in June 2024.

Meanwhile, the source also revealed that Jailer 2 will roll by the end of 2025 depending on the time taken by Lokesh Kanagaraj for his next film with Rajinikanth. At present, the film is tentatively named “Hukum.” However, the production team is considering two titles, “Jailer 2” and “Hukum,” with a preference leaning towards the latter among most members.

On the other hand, reports suggest Rajinikanth may have charged over Rs 250 crore for “Thalaivar 171,” with some sources indicating a fee between Rs 260-280 crore. While there’s no official confirmation yet, if true, this would make him Asia’s highest-paid actor. The film features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ranveer Singh, and Parvathy Thiruvothu in an ensemble cast and is currently in pre-production.
